I'm an award-winning full-stack lead web engineer and manager, published user experience designer, and Certified Professional in Web Accessibility, currently working remotely from Long Beach, California.
I believe people are more important than software, use they/them pronouns, and can usually be bribed with bubble tea. You may have heard of some of the websites I've worked on:
It's pretty simple, actually. I put people and their needs first. Then I look for ways to use the finest in open source technology to meet those needs. Finally, I make sure it's done right.
As straightforward as it sounds, this has been the cornerstone of my process for sixteen years. I'm a huge believer in inclusive design, which advocates for actively involving people with a broad range of experiences in the design process. It's easy to make assumptions, but there's no substitute for doing your homework.
Every single success story I can share started with a conversation about who we were serving, and ended with working closely with others to do just that.
It's nice when people notice, but every one of these really was a team effort.
Let me know what it is you're looking for out of your website, and we'll work together to make it happen.
